Join me in a round of applause for the adaptable individuals of Denver as we reach the end of another ever-changing weather season. I look forward to removing the growing “just in-case” stash of tee shirts and heavy coats from the back seat of my car, and finally replacing it with sandals and sunscreen.
Additionally, this transitional time is when we trade our sweaters for shorts and tank tops. Every year, my mom and I go from store to store searching for outfits that complement our ages and busy lifestyles. We love how Denver has so many shops that deliver a wide variety of clothing suitable for the both of us. Two of our favorite stores, Hailee Grace in Larimer Square, and Meraki Moon in RiNo, carry stylish and affordable clothing that’s appropriate for both of our lifestyles and demographics.
Despite the recent snow scares, the days on which we can confidently expect sunny skies and warm weather are near! To hold you over until then– millennials like myself, and women like my mom, can stock our closets with these summer styles from local Denver boutiques.
Rompers are the most effortless way to quickly have a complete, head-to-toe stylish look. The off the shoulder cut of this Meraki Moon romper is so flattering, and will also keep you cool when Denver is inevitably hit with a heat wave. I paired this romper with a rustic leather belt (also from Meraki Moon) to accentuate my waist and add an edgy vibe. I love how the combination of the two pieces creates a balance of femininity and structure.
Meraki Moon carries styles of jeans that both my mom and I love– like these classic light-wash skinnies! You can instantly feel the sturdy quality of these light-wash jeans, yet they remain so soft and comfortable. Also from Meraki Moon, this flowy top will keep you cool beneath its thin fabric. The delicate floral embroidery is a subtle, yet trendy touch, and the tie in front gives you the choice of how much skin you want to show.
This floor-length dress from Hailee Grace is a wearable work of art. Its scattered red flowers look as if they’re hand-painted, an upscale approach to a timeless trend. I also love the way this dress fits my mom; it accentuates her arms and shoulders while elongating her entire body. This dress has adjustable straps, so it can be the perfect length for whatever shoes you pair it with. The versatility of this dress makes it a great option for any formal or casual setting!
This look from Hailee Grace is so perfect for a date night! The top’s embroidered edges are feminine yet simple, and the off the shoulder cut reveals just enough skin. Although I usually find that these types of shirts end up slipping down throughout the day, I’m pleasantly surprised with how the lightweight fabric allows it to stay put. I also chose a dark-wash, distressed pair of skinny jeans to elongate my legs and create contrast against the light top. I love how these jeans hug my legs while remaining flexible-- they seriously feel like I’m wearing leggings!
I hope these styles motivate you to push through Denver's ever-changing climate until summer weather officially arrives. Until then, make sure to check out Hailee Grace and Meraki Moon to find your perfect looks for the upcoming season! Thanks for reading!
