Spring Into Floral Wedding Fashion

Spring is finally here and I am so thrilled! Not only are we getting warmer days, but everywhere you look there is new growth and new beginnings. Spring is the season of transformation and you can see it all around you. The trees that have been bare all winter are budding new leaves. Baby animals are experiencing the world for the first time. And the most obvious sign of spring… flowers are popping up everywhere! From your garden to your closet, you’re going to be seeing lots of floral this season. And if you’re on the guest list for a spring wedding (the biggest transformation of all), we know just what you should wear!

One of the best parts about attending a wedding is dress shopping. Even better than that is dress shopping for a spring wedding! As guests to our cousin’s wedding this month, this was the exact situation my sister and I found ourselves in. Without knowing what the other purchased, we were not surprised to learn we both opted for floral maxi dresses! In stores and online, spring fashion means so many great floral patterns to choose from and bright colors that will have everyone forgetting the muted tones of winter. If you’re in the market for a spring wedding guest dress, I’d highly recommend a maxi dress. Not only are maxi dresses formal, fun, and flirtatious, they also come in breathable fabric that’ll let you feel the sunshine while also protecting you from the unexpected spring breeze.

Let’s start with my sister’s dress first. Karen found her floral maxi dress from Marshall’s. No one said you have to break the bank to look good! Made by Love, Fire Clothing, this dress features an adorable halter top with descending ruffles, a style you’ll be seeing a lot this season. The lean top half design of this dress is perfect for anyone on the taller side or those who like to emphasize their shoulders. Karen paired her dress with coral lace up heels from H&M which added the perfect pop of color that both stands out and compliments the dress.

I purchased my dress online from lulus.com. Usually one to shy away from maxi dresses because I only stand 5’2” tall, I took a leap of faith because I loved the pattern and color of this “All Mine Navy Blue Floral Print High Low Dress.” I was so happy to learn that this dress actually fit my height and didn’t make me look like like a shapeless blob thanks to the tied waist. I love the wrap around style of this dress and that I can still show off some leg thanks to the high low design. I paired my dress with simple black ankle heels from H&M.

If you’re searching for the perfect dress to wear to a spring wedding, you can never go wrong with a fun floral dress! Not only are they everywhere this season, but there are so many patterns to choose from that you can easily find the one that speaks to you. So dust off your neutral winter coat, and spring into colorful florals!
