Tired? Sore? Mother’s Day Surprise? I will show you how to create a beautiful, simple gift for yourself or loved ones in a few easy steps. With a quick trip to the store, you will be able blend a luxurious bath salt soak in less than 15 minutes. This recipe is intended to provide sore, achy muscles a therapeutic place to relax. This is also customizable to your taste & preferences. Time for a quick shopping trip to the store or your pantry.
What you’ll need:
2 cups of plain Epsom salts – to draw toxins from the skin & ease tension
½ cup of Baking Soda- to help wash away oil, perspiration & soothe inflamed skin
3 Table Spoons Vegetable Glycerin – to gently hydrate the skin while soaking
6 drops Peppermint Essential Oil- to reduce bloating, tension and fatigue
4 drops Rosemary Essential Oil- to soothe muscles, reduce nervous tension & fatigue
5 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil- is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, pain reducer
4 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil- to promote mental clarity & is cooling
Glass Mason Jar or Storage container with a lid
Step 1-Take a large bowl for mixing and combine the Epsom Salt & baking soda together. Mix thoroughly.
Step 2- Next add 3 tablespoons of Vegetable Glycerin to the dry mixture and blend. Slowly & carefully add each essential oil. Enjoy the single notes as they slowly combine into this therapeutic & relaxing fragrance.
Step 3- Pour combined ingredients into an air tight container such as a Mason jar and store in a cool dry place. This will allow the ingredients to stay fresh & fragrant. Using a funnel may help with pouring the salts while transferring from the bowl to a different container.
What’s next? You have this incredible soak, so let’s prepare it for gifting!
There are so many things that you can do to customize the packaging for homemade use or packaging. Some ideas could be: use cute chalkboard labels to personalize this gift. Create a handwritten or printed gift tags. Tie them on with festive ribbon or raffia for a spa look. Additional touches could be a small scoop with bath instructions.
The last & most important step…. Take the time to use this and enjoy! Only 1-2 scoops in a warm bath will relax away the tension. Make sure that you spend at least 20 minutes to yourself, distraction free & unwind!
