Intern Diaries: The Cliche Follow Your Dreams Post
If I take a step back in time and travel back to where I was a year ago, I would have never expected to be where I am today. It's crazy how being around certain people, certain environments affected who I was and my happiness. I moved to Denver from Wisconsin about eight months ago, and I'm not being dramatic when I say I'm the happiest I've ever been. It's been probably the most stressful time in my life (I grew a gray hair...that was fun), but I've never known myself better and never felt more confident about where my life was going. A few months ago I was sitting at a desk just typing away and suddenly I realized wait, I'm going to be working for the rest of my life- why not do something I'm passionate about. Fashion has always been a huge part of my life, but being from small town Wisconsin, it was very difficult to find any opportunities in that industry. I researched different job possibilities and local companies, but still wasn't sure if I was making the right decision. I came across Denver Style Magazine, got in touch with them and there happened to be a opening for a blogging manager. I knew right away this was a sign to follow my heart.
My life has turned into an indescribable crazy whirlwind (just waiting for my next gray hair), but I wouldn't trade it for anything. If anything this new journey has taught me to never settle for a life you're not passionate about. And never stop believing in yourself, because people will always doubt you. Once you believe in yourself, magical things happen.
Till next time loves!
