Fashion Forward Events with State of Style

You thought you were safe. You thought for just a moment that all your holiday shopping was over. Oh no, my friends; it's coming. It's the most romantic holiday in the middle of winter besides engagement season- Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong, since falling into a steady relationship last year, I kind of enjoy Valentine's Day and I am kind of looking forward to it this year. Whether you are celebrating Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day (thank you Parks and Rec and Leslie Knope) or even Singles Awareness Day, hopefully you will find something helpful bellow.

denverstylemagazine_0009 Let's start with the gentlemen.  Whether you are dressing up for a date, going to work and then drinks with the fellas hoping to get noticed later, or praying your S.O. gets something amazing for you, shopping at Sully & Co is certainly one of your best bets. Anything at Sully & Co will be amazing, but I cannot recommend the green woolly felt pants (in outfit number two) enough, especially in this pristine color (Priced at $290).

The thinner wool pants pictured above (priced $250) are pairs of pants that would would look good on any man! When I took my man to this amazing menswear boutique, his eyes lit up. I worked to match this outfit with the lovely black dreess from State of Style (available for rent for $25 a night.)

This combination of the Brick Chambray  shirt by New England Shirt Company(priced at $165), blue flannel blazer, and perfectly and locally made Minus the Dart bowtie (priced at $78) is perfect for a classy and vintage night out at a place such as Williams & Graham, or dinner at The Brown Palace. If you can, find a place to hold your S.O. close during a night of dancing. That's a plus (and let this blogger know where that is!)denverstylemagazine_0010 denverstylemagazine_0011

As I mentioned earlier, State of Style has the "#1 Dress" in black by local designer 50 Dresses for only $25 a night. As you can see, add some bright red shoes that you know you need, very simple pieces of jewelry, and easy hair and make up and this dress is ready for classy cocktail and dancing evening. You can also pick a few other locally made options from State of Style available for rent anywhere from $25 to $100 a night.

The second look picked for you gentlemen has a bit of a more casual yet still very put together look. Robert completely swooned over the Birds On a Wire Tie (Priced at $120) paired with this New England Shirt Company brown check shirt (priced at $195) and the Haspel Blazer (priced at $650) Sully & Co is sure to have something to make any dude look great. With this look, you can share a sweet moment at a place like Beatrice and Woodsley, The Front Porch, and maybe some bowling at Punch Bowl afterwords.

There is a lovely little boutique right next door to Old Major in LoHi that was made for Valentine's Day, Single's Awareness Day, and even Galentine's day. Stritch is relatively new, but really has what you need. They know how to make shopping so wonderful and they're even a great place to go for Valentine's and Galentine's presents.

This beautiful and well fitting floral shift dress (priced at $75) can go from brunch at Snooze with your ladies to a night out on the town. Major bonus - it is super comfortable and really can be worn to anything depending how it is styled. I added the wonderful piece of Landmine Design jewelry (available at LandmineDesign.com, priced at $30) and locally made Native Clutter earrings (priced at $46) Then, I pulled my hair up for a soft up-do, and added low-ish neutral and comfortable heels. I would feel absolute comfortable going from dinner at Beatrice and Woodsley to bowling at Punch Bowl in this look.

Finally, our 3rd look. Galentine's day is Feb 13th. It's a day to celebrate your ladies, your besties and the ones who have always been there for you. How BA would you look going from dinner at Comida in The Source to Friday night at Meadowlark? Not only does this work for the lady celebrating her ladies, but it also works for the lady trying to grab the attention of other singles. This outfit says nothing but I am stylish, I am fun, I am trendy and I am a BAD ASS!

This Moto Jacket from Stritch (priced at $74) is the best way to complete the look. The skirt is a perfect longer length and yet shows so much leg with it's mesh. The hat (priced at $44) is such a fun accessory, and the shoes just give you a boost of height and confidence. This green shirt also shows just a  little bit of skin to keep them asking for more, and maybe for your number. (priced at $39)

Though it is only 3 days away, you still have time to look your absolute best this Valentine's Day. Hope your Day of Romance is sweet as the love you feel.

You can find State of Style online and visit Sully & Co at 2443 Eliot St. and Stritch at 3326 Tejon St. in Denver.
