Event Gallery: Holiday Flea 2015

Fleakin' Out, Holiday Flea Returns

|| By Jordan Jackson, @JordanJ4||

When I was first introduced to Holiday Flea in 2014, I will admit, I went for the booze. And while the libations were still a determining factor in my attendance, the abundance of outstanding artisans and handmade products are what made me a repeat “flea'er” this year. Holiday Flea is a combination of what makes Denver great: happy people in a happy place, brought together by the magic of makers, craft beer and good tunes.

I was lucky enough to chat with Flea’s founder, Blake Adams. After our brief conversation it was easy to tell why such an event has housed so much success.

In his own words, “Denver Flea is unlike any market in Colorado. The best of the best vendors, great beer and cocktails and live music help to create a genuinely authentic experience not before seen in Denver. Coloradans are in love with Denver Flea because they trust the vendor mix will be top notch and that they will have a great time shopping local entrepreneurs and small business owners.”

Like I said, a magical combination. Plus, Denver Flea is dog friendly!

Highlights of my shopping extravaganza: Purchasing one-of-a-kind earrings from Canned Goods, picking a vintage vessel for my new H2 Design Candle, helping my guy friends find the perfect fit with Ratio Clothing and sampling nosh from The Real Dill and Polidori Sausage.

Denver Flea hosts seasonal events in various locations throughout the Mile High City; Holiday Flea being the crown jewel of the series. With a mix of music, mutts, mingling and, of course, marking off my holiday list, this is one affair I have made a December tradition. Cheers to all of the folks behind the scenes, awesome merchants and “fleaks” who joined in the festivities.
