Event Gallery: 5th Annual Paris Holiday Market
5th Annual Paris Holiday Market
by Jordan Jackson
I am in avid believer in Aubrey Hepburn’s quote; “Paris is always a good idea”. Which may give insight to why I jumped at the opportunity to visit Denver Public Library’s Paris Holiday Market over the weekend. With gift giving season just around the corner, the gathering seemed like the perfect chance to browse some of Colorado’s greatest gems in a French fair fashion.
With a mix of food, clothing, accessories and one-of-a-kind treasures, the market was suited for any Parisian at heart. Browsing displays while sampling sweet and savory treats made the experience all too romantic and a uniquely quaint shopping extravaganza.
My favorite finds? Lotions and muscle rub from Spinster Sister branded with vintage lettering on black glass bottles and tin containers. It’s not only the perfect addition to a beauty routine, but also the loveliest supplement to any bathroom counter top. Another favorite was jewels. Oh the jewelry! Some of the most exceptionally crafted and hard to find pieces were sprinkled throughout the space. I adored both Anne Franklin Designs and Spin Vintage Studio’s statement necklaces and earrings.
Missed the event? No worries, look for these artisans and venders at other seasonal markets and pencil in the DPL’s annual affair for next year’s kick-off to holiday shopping.
