Denim is definitely a wardrobe staple for the people of Denver. It's practical, versatile and comfortable- all qualities that Denverites seem to value in their clothing choices. While denim can often translate to "casual" or "simple," it can also make a statement! Rustic Thread, a women's boutique in the Highlands and in Fort Collins, is one of my go-to's when it comes to purchasing the latest trends in denim at an affordable price.
Trend #1: Colored Jeans
I know a lot of people are a little reluctant to try colored denim, and that's likely because it can make a big statement. Eggplant is a great starting place for someone who is looking to try this trend since it's still pretty dark. Plus, the subtle distressed details at the knees are very on trend for fall.

Trend #2: Flared Denim
This is probably one of my favorite trends this year! I love the 70s vibes and that flares can make your legs look a mile long. I recommend trying a long pair so they hit right at the floor with whatever shoes you're wearing. If you hate heels, get your jeans hemmed so they don't drag on the floor.
Trend #3: Lighter Wash Distressed Denim
Lighter washes can be intimidating for some, but this grey pair is the perfect shade! The bigger holes at the knees are fun in the winter if you layer printed tights underneath.
