Who doesn’t love going to a spa? It is such a wonderful experience that makes you feel relaxed and calmed, right? But spas can be very expensive and sometimes finding the perfect time to visit one can certainly become a challenge. However, what if I told you that you could bring the spa to your own house? Yes, you absolutely can, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past 2 months…

Whether is a homemade facemask or a body scrub, a bubble bath with candles and champagne, or just a mani & pedi… as a busy mom (like many of you) I REALLY NEED THIS every now and then. I like to do this at least once a week, but like I said, spas can be expensive (although, there are some affordable places too), and even more so if you want to go every week. So, let me just share what I basically do to bring the spa to my place:

-       Make sure you are home alone. The idea of all this is that you can lay back, relax and enjoy this “spa moment” by yourself.

-       Light up some candles. I think this is a “must do” if you are turning your bedroom or bathroom into a spa. I love to use the Karmalit candles.

-       Wear a bathrobe. Feel comfortable.

-       Make a facemask, a body scrub or any treatment that you wan to try.

-       Enjoy!

Oatmeal facemask recipe:

What you will need:

½ cup of regular oatmeal.

1 Tbsp. face moisturizer according to your skin type. I like to use one of my favorites: “Spinster Sisters Face Cream”.

2 Tbsp. honey.

Preparation:

Mix all the ingredients. You can add more moisturizer and honey if you want to make the mix thicker.

How to apply:

Take a decent amount and apply all over your face and neck avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

I suggest doing this at least once a week and above all relax, unplug yourself from your surroundings and enjoy your very well deserved alone time. I hope you have a great time transforming your home into a spa!

XOXO,
